These journal entries might seem like complaining, but I prefer to think of it as documenting our fun. Consider this all as material.
last Wednesday I got a frantic call from Kit (ducttapediva). She was sick like dog and our three surviving goldfish were doing even worse. We had four fish for the last seven years, but one had died the Sunday before. The last three were dying. I came home early to deal with the cadavers. Our son was devastated, as they were his fish. We had a quick funeral, then cleaned up the empty aquarium. Kit was doing makeup for an Ohio Dept of Highway Safety film and the director needed a home for the party scene. Earlier she had volunteered or place for that--- for that evening. We got everything tidied up and all the props in place (lots of colored water in whiskey and beer bottles).
Eighteen actors and five crew showed up at about 5pm. They stayed until ten-thirty. We had the house cleaned up by eleven. I went to bed shortly after that since I had to work in the morning.
The thunder storms came an hour after that.
The power failed an hour later. Kit and Aidan were downstairs trying to put batteries in radios to listen for tornado warning. I helped as best as I could; I was exhausted and groggy. I went back to bed once I was confident we weren't going to be killed by ninja windstorms.
The leak in ceiling, right over our bed, started at two am. I moved to my son's bed because I had to be up at six. I slept with my cell phone set on alarm function in my hands.
The power came on at four am. Every light in the house kicked on at the same time.
And all those damn radios.
I wasn't particularly perky and fresh at work the next day.
So, we have more fun than people some days. And I haven't even told you about the squirrel in the kitchen last weekend.

I toast to the Knights of old. May they live on in the warriors of now. Giving them courage and strength so that they may live to fight another day.

I wish I were a glow worm.
A glow worm is never glum,
Because how can you be unhappy,
When the sun shines out your bum?!
The human element...Nothing is more fundamental...Nothing more elemental...
